Primark confirms 2019 Bluewater opening

Fashion giant Primark has confirmed it is preparing to join the retail line-up at Bluewater in 2019, after agreeing to lease 60,000 sq ft of space (of which 46,000 sq ft will be selling space) from Landsec.

The new store will be located on Thames Walk, and showcase the latest trends in women’s, men’s and children’s fashions including footwear, accessories as well as lingerie, beauty and homeware.

With this signing, Bluewater continues to expand its mix following the arrival of US premium brands Coach and Kate Space late last year. Godiva, Neal’s Yard Remedies, Smashbox and Lindt have also opened at the Kent shopping centre in the last 12 months.

Russell Loveland, Portfolio Director at Landsec, co-owner and asset manager of Bluewater, said: “We are always looking for ways to enhance our offer, from securing new premium brands to ensuring we provide the very best of affordable fashion. By providing a comprehensive, relevant and engaging offer, from brands to experiences, we ensure Bluewater remains the number one destination.”

Primark owner AB Foods expects to see an increase in retail profit for financial year 2017-18, as Primark’s margins have remained in line of that of its latest financial year. The group is scheduled to release its first quarter trading update this Thursday, giving an insight into how it fared over the festive period.
