Jewelry rental service Flont launches Stylist Program after funds boost

Published

Flont, the jewelry rental service from Cormac Kinney, launched on Friday a new Stylist Program for its subscribers.

The Stylist Program allows stylists and personal shoppers to borrow up to $15,000 worth of jewelry at a time, and even more for special occasions. Stylists can earn money through the program for membership referrals or if their clients buy pieces they are renting.

The new program launches just one month after the company received $5 million in funding from C Ventures, a group of private investors that have injected funding into Bandier, Paddle8 and Armarium.

“Flont is tackling the challenges which inhibit high-touch sales in the age of e-commerce. Borrowing incredible jewelry, and experiencing it first-hand is the best way to discover brands and designers, while developing a lifelong affinity,” said Kinney, Founder & CEO of Flont. “Our members can enjoy unlimited jewelry, with the opportunity to purchase pieces they want to keep forever.”

Founded in 2016 and launched in May 2017, Flont offers short-term fine jewelry rentals and membership with unlimited access. The jewelry rental service operates under a similar try-and-buy model as Stitch Fix and Birchbox that has been recently adopted by Gap and Under Armour.

Flont said in October that it will use the funding to build inventory and increase staff and to expand into the Chinese market.
