Differential Brands to relaunch Hudson Jeans in Canada with Throat Threads

Los Angeles-based Differential Brands Group has partnered with Throat Threads Apparel for the relaunch of Hudson Jeans in Canada.

In an official release, Differential Brands explained the Hudson Jeans Canadian relaunch "will resonate with the ‘denim-devotee’ with an emphasis on lifestyle and the expansion of sportswear."

The group also explained that Hudson Jeans is taking a new approach with an aim to become more of a lifestyle brand. The brand is now operating under the design direction of Zihaad Wells, who brings over ten years of denim design and innovation experience from True Religion and five more from Levi's.

Throat Threads is a leading entity in strategic retail brand placement and brand development across Canada. Brands in its portfolio include John Varvatos, Ben Sherman, Adidas, and NYDJ.

“We look forward to partnering with Throat Threads Apparel for the Canadian market,” says Michael Buckley, CEO of Differential Brands Group. Buckley added that Throat Threads has a proven track record of building out brands in Canada's strongest retailers which is Differential Brands' strategy for Hudson.

The group's portfolio includes Hudson Jeans, Robert Graham and Swims.

Candice MacNay, Sales Director of Throat Threads Apparel called Hudson Jeans a "brand to watch in 2018." Specific retail channels and launch dates were not disclosed.
