CollectPlus in industry-first ‘social send’ service

Delivery network CollectPlus has launched a new service targeting shoppers using online marketplaces with the volume of parcels resulting from marketplace sales having exploded in recent years.


Peer-to-peer parcel delivery and small business parcels have grown fast as marketplaces have become key locations for fashion sales



Marketplace sales have exploded in recent years and have been key for both sales of second hand fashion goods and for small entrepreneurs building fledgling fashion businesses.

The new CollectPlus Social Send is an app-based offer with a name that makes the most of consumers’ social media obsessions.

But it’s not a new social media concept. Instead it allows parcels to be sent when the sender only has the recipient’s email address or phone humber. It also means that purchasers can keep their address detail private, a key factor given security concerns of marketplace users.

When a product is bought and the service selected, the app automatically sends the recipient a link allowing them to choose a delivery location from the 6,500 parcel points in the CollectPlus network. The sender also gets that info and drops the parcel at their own local CollectPlus store, which can print the label.

The recipient gets a notification when the item is available for collection and CollectPlus also gives the sender proof of delivery. There’s also tracking for both parties and the parcels are available for up to 10 days.
