Asos adds new in-app feature

Published
Oct 22, 2018

Asos has created a new tool to help app users organise their Saved Items into categories.

Asos

The new ‘Boards’ in-app feature is the latest digital development from the online fashion e-tailer, which in the last few weeks launched a new own-label clothing brand and announced a move into voice shopping.

Asos said 43% of its customers using Saved Items on iOS have over 50 items saved. Saved Items is a tool to help customers find the products they have liked in previous sessions, however things can get complicated, with some shoppers saving as many as 500 products for later.

So the new Boards will allow shoppers to organise the items into categories, such as Winter coats, Autumn outfits, gym & work, etc, thus making them easier to find.

“Giving our customers a better way to organise their Saved Items is one of our most in-demand features, and Boards is just a first step in the improvements we will roll out in this area over time,” said Charmaine Aksakal, product manager at Asos.

“Future updates, from sharing functionality to new layouts and product and Board suggestions driven by machine learning, will empower our customers with fresh ways to find and share inspiration and discover their personal style.”

The new feature is available across the Asos app on iOS and Android globally.
