Acne Studios: Bold houndstooth and punky details at Pre-Fall 2015

Acne Studios' latest collection was inspired by the "independent spirit of 1930s sportswomen" according to designer Jonny Johansson. 

Acne Studios' Pre-Fall 2015 collection was all about soft impact, from the chunky mauve knits, to the equally chunky soles on the boots. The menswear influences were strong, with corduroy tracksuits, necktie silks used for trousers, and sporty skiwear-inspired pieces, alongside shearling gloves, dresses and coats. 

Johansson's interest was in natural fibers, which came through in his mixed knit and Swiss lace dresses, denim, boiled Shetland wool and tweed. While the dominant motif was a bold houndstooth alongside tartan, there was also place for a 'say no to drugs' embroidered, punky touches including giant pin closures and simple derbies with spiked studded bands.
