A$AP Ferg and Chid Liberty collaborate on new collection to benefit schoolchildren in Africa

The Harlem-based rapper’s collection with Chid Liberty’s brand Uniform launched on Saturday with a New York City pop-up. For each item sold, Uniform will donate a school uniform to a child in Africa.

 
Liberty and A$AP Ferg first worked on a capsule collection in April of this year, available exclusively at Bloomingdale’s. The two have expanded their partnership now with a full line of men’s and women’s clothing to benefit African children in need.
 
The Traplord x Uniform collection made its debut at a pop-up in New York City’s Soho neighborhood on Saturday. The event was organized in conjunction with Tidal and also marked the premiere of “A$AP Ferg: Where Stars Are Born,” A$AP Ferg’s documentary made with the music subscription service.

In addition to donating school uniforms in Africa, the collection also intends to benefit African communities through job creations as the clothes are produced in countries such as Liberia.
 
Born in Liberia and raised in Germany and the United States, Liberty is the co-founder of the ethical manufacturing company Liberty & Justice. He began his clothing line Uniform after seeing many children in Liberia were unable to attend school because they lacked access to uniforms.
 
A$AP Ferg also collaborated with clothing brand Agolde on a unisex denim collection in July of this year, and is the co-founder of New York-based label Traplord.
